About Me

My name’s Edwin Tucker. I’m 33, from New Zealand and now living in Vancouver, Canada with my lovely girlfriend Cathy.

Originally from Auckland, I studied in Hamilton to obtain degrees in Psychology and Geography before I went to live and work for a year in Tokyo and for over two years in London.

I’ve already cycled completely around New Zealand, Ireland and Iceland as well as travel by more conventional means to some other special spots in the world. In 2001 I ran in the London Marathon (and finished too).

OK, so who wants to travel around the world? Lots would. Who wants to do it by bicycle? Not as many, but, believe it or not, there are still lots of people that would – given the chance.

Why? In my case, I WANT to cycle around the world. It is as simple as that. I like travel. I like cycling. Cycle touring is a wonderful way of travelling. Why not see the travel the world under your own power? It’s going to be such a wonderful experience for one, why not give something back to others? Helping ITDG find practical answers to poverty is a perfect way to balance the books.

Still curious? Ask me your questions and I’ll answer them as best I can and summarise themes of questions into Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) as I go along.
