Welcome to How's My Cycling
around the world by bicycle

The expedition has two principal aims:
1) to travel around the planet as much as possible by bicycle.
2) to raise awareness and funds for the charity ITDG to find practical answers to poverty.

The journey:
  • 2 and a half years
  • 4 continents
  • 36,110km cycled
  • 2,000 nautical miles sailed (3,700km)
  • 23 countries (UK, France, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia & Montenegro (then Yugoslavia), Bulgaria, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Tibet, China, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, East Timor, Australia, New Zealand, Canada).

    Currently:
  • Finished!
  • Together with my wonderful girlfriend Cathy in Vancouver, Canada.
  • Writing the book of the adventure.
  • A short story from the journey has been published by Lonely Planet in an anthology of travel stories called By the Seat of My Pants.

    In the future:
  • Update the web site - so keep visiting this site for additional journal entries and pictures - old and new.

    Dedicated to:
My parents - John and Elisapeta Tucker. Inner strength from them meant I could take on the world - and so I did. Thank you for the love and support, mum and dad. They deserve the world, and with as much of it as I can give, I want to honour them with this circumnavigation of our world.
